Concept Presentation
"LIZZIE is American mythology set to a blistering rock score" (LIZZIE Website). Telling the true story of the 1892 Borden murders, LIZZIE has been one of my dream directorial projects for many years. When I finally got the chance to stage my own production, I took the opportunity to reimagine the original 4-woman cast into an 11-woman ensemble-driven rock concert extravaganza. I was drawn to this show to begin with because of its subversive portrayal of history and almost fantastical vision of female liberation.
